QuantumPeak Games

Baseshift keeps almost nothing, and sends none of it anywhere

This notice describes the current release in plain sentences. It is rewritten before any release that would make it inaccurate — never after.

No accountNothing to register, nothing to sign in to.
No connectionThe app never contacts a server of ours, because we run none.
No permissionsNot one runtime permission is requested.

Baseshift  ·  com.radixlab.baseshift
controller Styled By Smita Ltd, trading as QuantumPeak Games
in force from 20 August 2026

01

Who is responsible for this

Styled By Smita Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at 434 Talbot Skyline, 204–226 Imperial Drive, Harrow HA2 7HA, United Kingdom. The director is Smita Yadev. We publish under the name QuantumPeak Games.

We wrote the application, we maintain it, and we are the data controller for anything described here. Write to peak@styledbysmita.work about any of it and a person answers within five working days.

02

The whole thing in one paragraph

Baseshift has no accounts, no login and no server belonging to us. It never asks for your name, email or phone number. The numbers you type, your practice results and your settings sit in the application's own storage on your phone. Uninstall it and they go with it.

Everything below explains that properly, including the small amount of technical information Google receives because the application is distributed through Google Play.

03

What the application stores

All of it is written into the private storage area Android reserves for each installed application, which other applications on the device cannot read:

  • last_valueThe number and bit width you were last working with, so reopening the app does not start you from zero.
  • practice_progressYour results in the timed drills and operation challenges, including best times and streaks.
  • preferencesDefault bit width, theme and display settings.

None of it is transmitted to us. There is no backend, no synchronisation, no leaderboard and no account for it to attach to — we hold no copy and could not produce one if we were asked.

To erase it, uninstall the application, or open Settings → Apps → Baseshift → Storage → Clear storage. That resets practice progress and every preference, and cannot be undone.

04

Permissions

None are requested. Not one.

Baseshift asks for no runtime permissions at all. It does not touch your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, files, location, calendar, call log or messages, and it needs no internet access in order to work.

Every conversion, every bitwise operation, every drill and every reference page is compiled into the application, so there is nothing to fetch and nothing to fetch it with.

If a later version ever needed a permission for some feature, Android would ask you at the moment that feature was used, and this notice would already explain why.

05

What you type stays with you

Numbers entered into the converter and the bit playground are processed entirely on the device, in memory, by arithmetic running on your own processor. Nothing is sent for evaluation, because there is nowhere to send it and nothing that would evaluate it faster than your phone.

The only value written to storage is the one you were last working on, kept so the app can restore your screen. Everything else is discarded the moment you change it.

06

Other companies

Baseshift contains no advertising libraries, no analytics libraries and no social network integrations. We build no profile of you, we do not follow you into other applications or websites, and we sell or share nothing with data brokers — we have nothing to sell or share.

The application reaches you through Google Play. Google independently collects installation, crash and device information under its own terms, which are outside our control — see the Google Privacy Policy. Where Google Play services libraries are present in the binary, they may handle technical identifiers such as device model, Android version and an advertising ID for the purposes Google sets out. None of that reaches us in a form that identifies you.

07

Younger users

Baseshift is educational software for a general audience, students very much included. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and because it collects none from anybody, it holds none belonging to a child.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal information — by writing to our support address, for instance — tell us and it will be deleted.

08

If you write to us

We keep your message and email address for as long as the question takes to resolve, and for up to twenty-four months afterwards so that a follow-up can be recognised rather than answered from scratch. Our basis is our legitimate interest in supporting the people who use our software. Nothing goes onto a mailing list and nothing is passed to anyone else.

09

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you may request access to your personal data, correction of it, erasure of it, restriction of its processing or portability, and you may object to processing altogether. Those rights apply here in full, even though there is very little for them to apply to.

You may also complain to a supervisory authority — in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. To exercise any right, write to peak@styledbysmita.work and we answer within one month.

10

Security

Application data lives in the sandbox Android gives each installed application, isolated from everything else on the device. Because nothing travels, there is no traffic anyone could intercept and no database of ours anyone could breach. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to the little information we do handle, while accepting that no form of electronic storage is ever completely secure.

11

Changes

This notice is updated when the application changes or when the law requires it. The date at the top is the date the current wording took effect. If a future release begins collecting anything this version does not describe, the rewritten notice is published before that release ships.
